3-star DB to commit on Friday

Three-star safety Daejuan Funderburk has set a decision date. The standout from Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy will choose between West Virginia and Miami on January 17.
West Virginia - "Some coaches came to the school and talked to me back in the summer about coming in and getting on the field," said the 6-foot-1, 188-pound Funderburk. "Coach Gibson made me feel very comfortable with the situation. I like how the students know me by name. The fans bring everything out to gameday and it's what you want to see."

Miami - "Coach Williams reached out to me last year when he came up," he said. "He came at me with no attitude and just told me like it is, kind of like my coach. He saw me practice a couple of times. I wish I could visit down there. They have a lot of NFL alumni. Coach Golden has them going in a good direction."
January 17 is going to be a busy day for Funderburk. He is not only planning on committing that day but he also starts an official visit to West Virginia that day.
"I'm looking forward to having a lot of fun on my official visit," Funderburk said. "I want to get to know the players better. I also want to see what resources they have for me to take advantage of academically and athletically. I want to see the dorms and my class might be at."
Funderburk's commitment on January 17 will be the second of his recruitment. At the beginning of September Funderburk decommitted from Temple after being committed to the Owls for roughly two months.
