3-star 50-percent committed to FAU

Three-star cornerback Rashard Causey of Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas committed to Florida Atlantic back in April, but said the strength of his commitment is only 50 percent. He's also mapped out five official visits to Florida State, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Miami and Michigan.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Causey plans to go to Clemson at Florida State (Sept. 20), Michigan State at Michigan (Oct. 25) and Florida State at Miami (Nov. 15). He's also deciding which game to go to on Sept. 27 - Missouri at South Carolina or USF at Wisconsin. He still plans on visiting both South Carolina and Wisconsin.

Of those five schools, he considers Miami and South Carolina the biggest threats to FAU.
"Miami's got my boys there and they're asking me every day, when am I going to commit?," Causey said. "I love everything about it. They're my home team, my boys go there, so let's make it happen."
Causey also likes the South Carolina.
"I went there and visited for a day," he said. "And I just fell in love with everything - the team, the coaches, the facilities. One of my friends is out there and he's recruiting me."
Causey still remains committed to FAU, however, and keeps in touch regularly.
"It's been great actually," he said. "I love coach the coaching staff and we had a great relationship even before I committed there. Now that I've committed it's gotten even better. We talk twice a week and we talk about more than football sometimes, so we have a good relationship."
Causey has been to FAU twice since he committed, most recently to Owl Day.
One plus to staying committed to FAU is the near guarantee of making an immediate impact.
"They want me to start right away," he said.
