3 favorites for Washington

Defensive tackle Leonard Washington of New Orleans Edna Karr named his top three Tuesday. It includes Kentucky, Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss.
What's interesting is that the Wildcats have yet to offer.

Washington, however, expects that to change sometime soon.
"They really want to offer me," Washington said. "But they want to see me in camp. I talked to a coach from Kentucky. He said they wanted to see me do the drills. Once I go, he told me he'd give me an offer. They just want to see how I move. I'm going up there the second week of July."
Here's what the 6-foot, 280-pound Washington, who has more than a dozen offers, said about the other programs in his top three:
Louisiana Tech - "I like Tech because of their playing style. They get after people. I like defenses like that. "
Southern Miss - "I think I'm going there next week for camp. I went there for junior day back in February. I liked the campus and the coaches. I liked everything about Southern Miss. It was a great experience."
Louisiana-Monroe and Stanford also are in the picture, he said. Additionally, Washington might swing by Middle Tennessee and Tennessee on the way back from Kentucky.
"The reason I like U-LM is because they want me to come start," Washington said. "Starting as a freshman is a big thing. Stanford said they're really interested. They really want to see me come out there, but it's a long way away."
