2022 four-star OL Riley Quick wants to play two sports in college

Right now, Riley Quick is known as an offensive tackle at Trussville (Ala.) Hewitt Trussville. The 6-foot-4, 250 pound junior is a long, lean offensive lineman with good feet, coordination, and athleticism.

The four-star saw his brother Pierce Quick go through the recruiting process, evaluate schools, and eventually sign with Alabama in 2019. Having a big brother like that, that has already been through this process, is very helpful.

"Pierce has helped me a lot," said Quick. "When we had the quarantine, he came home from college, and we would go workout every day, he would work with me on drills, he would help with my footwork and he has helped me with the recruiting process too. Having a brother like that is a big help for me.

"The biggest advice he has given me about recruiting is just to be patient and to let it all play out. He said it will all workout eventually, and just to find the school that is home for me. Alabama is home for him, so he just told me to find the right school that feels that way to me."

Arizona State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State and Tennessee are some of the schools that have offered. It is still early, and he is learning as much about the schools as he can.

"I really don't know a lot about any of the schools that have offered yet. I have been talking to some of the coaches, I have seen some on TV, but I am just seeing what I can learn.

"I have talked to a lot of the schools about taking visits when we can, but we still don't know when that will be. That is the next step for me."

Those visits will be important for multiple reasons. One of those is to evaluate programs for football and baseball.

Quick is also a pitcher that has a baseball offer from Auburn. Other schools have told him he can play both sports.

"It is kind of weird right now because I do love both sports," said Quick. "One day I will be talking to a football coach about his school, then 10 minutes later, or the next day, I am talking to a baseball coach about his program. It is kind of crazy.

"Baseball will play into my recruiting. I would love to try both sports in college. I know it would be hard, and I know I would have to choose one eventually, but I love both sports and hope to play both in college.

"So far, I have dual offers to play football and baseball from Georgia Tech, Mississippi State and Tennessee. That will play into my decision for sure."
