2021 athlete gets 'dream offer' from Georgia

Lovasea Carroll picked up offers from two Bulldogs Monday and one came from a school he has been following for as long as he can remember.

The 6-foot-1, 190 pound athlete out of Warrenton (Ga.) Warren County grew up following the in-state school in Athens and Georgia extended the offer earlier this week.

"Georgia is a great school and getting an offer from them was one of my dream offers," said Carroll. "Georgia is one of my dream schools and they will always be one of my top schools.

"My coach told me to call coach McGee Monday night at 8pm, so I kind of thought an offer might be coming, but when he told me I had the offer, it was still shocking. It was a very good surprise."

McGee talked about different positions with Carroll and asked if he had a position preference. He shined at running back last season as a sophomore, but looking ahead to the next level, he likes the idea of playing wide receiver or safety. Georgia is open to that. They just want to get him on campus.

That will happen this weekend.

"It will be my first time Georgia as a recruit, so I am excited about it. I want to see what it is like, how their academics work and just start building relationships with the coaches. Georgia is one of the top schools in the SEC and the country, so I just want to get up there this weekend."

Mississippi State will get a visit from Carroll on Tuesday. Carroll is on spring break next week, so he will see Starkville for the first time soon too.

"I do not know as much about them, but I did like how they talked to me on the phone," said Carroll. "They were excited about me. They were telling me how they want me, how they need me and they really sounded like they like me a lot.

"I don't much about them yet, but I will be soon. I am looking forward to meeting their coaches."

Carroll now has three SEC offers. Tennessee has offered as well. He plans to visit Knoxville in the near future too.

It is too early for true favorites he said, but he is going to take visits, do some camps in the summer and start to shape a list later this year.
