COPPELL, Tex. -- Four-star 2020 running back Jase McClellan might still have some curveballs left to throw at those following his recruitment.
One of the top running backs in his class since bursting onto the scene as a freshman, McClellan committed to Oklahoma last summer. Although many predict a battle between the Sooners and Texas down the stretch, McClellan said teams from the SEC, like Alabama, Georgia, and LSU have started picking up their interest in him as well.
“They’ve really been pushing for me to try and come out and take a visit,” he said. “I have a different feel with them because SEC is big ball and I like those schools, so I want to take my time and look out there.”
Of particular interest to McClellan from that group could be Georgia, who has become a team synonymous with a strong rushing attack following the recent tenure of Nick Chubb and Sony Michel. McClellan visited UGA at the end of January and is keeping the Bulldogs high on his list.
“That appeals to me a little bit, because they have a history of putting running backs into the league, too,” he said. “It’s a running back university. So I’m taking a look at them and keeping them as a top selection.”
