KENNESAW, Ga. – 2020 Rivals250 safety Darius Snow has been one of the more prolific visit takers in his class thus far and following a trip to the east coast for his appearance in the Pylon 7-on-7 National Championships, he was back at it again.

This week, Snow took a visit to Michigan State, where his uncle, Percy Snow, played in the late 1980’s, and he’ll be at Notre Dame for a visit on Thursday. Earlier this month, after visits to Alabama and Georgia, he snuck up to Clemson for a visit as well.

Snow is a thoughtful personality and even though he’s been so proactive about his visit schedule, he said that’s not an indication that he’s any closer making any sort of big decisions with his recruitment.

“The biggest thing with me, as all this is starting to pick up, is that I’m just going to be a junior this year,” he said. “I have two more years of high school and people are starting to wonder where you’re going to go, where you’re going to play, what you’re going to be … but these visits are really helping. I’ll be able to tell when I get there in less than five minutes if I can feel myself going there.”

IN HIS WORDS

On Alabama, where he visited on June 11

“That was my first time on campus,” he said. “I got to sit down with [head coach Nick Saban] and talk for about 30 minutes and when the conversation ended, he told me to make sure I said hello to my uncle for him.”

“The visit was similar to my visit to Clemson,” he said. “I got to tour the campus, I’m leaning towards majoring in international business, so I got to see the school of business. I got to talk with Coach (Karl) Scott, Coach (Tosh) Lupoi, Coach (Jeff) Banks, so it was a lot of fun. I had a lot of fun.”

On Clemson, who offered last Wednesday

“It was good,” he said. “I’ve been talking to them for just over a month. I was at Georgia the day before and I hadn’t planned on going, but I called them up earlier in the week and they were like, ‘why don’t you just come down?’ and I think they were leading to it, but it’s only about an hour-and-45-minutes from where my mom lives.

“We spent the whole day there, really. We were there from about 10 in the morning to about 6 o’clock at night,” he said. “I saw the whole campus, all the football facilities, I got to see how the coaches work with the players, did a photoshoot, played some basketball with the coaches – just everything.”

“I had always liked Clemson, and with their recent success, that’s only increased,” he said. “But that visit really helped them. I don’t have a top teams list, but if I did they would be up there. As time goes on, I want to keep building a relationship with Coach (Mickey) Conn, Coach (Brent) Venables, Coach (Dabo) Swinney, but that visit was a lot of fun.”

On Georgia, where he visited June 12

“Georgia was pretty fun – it was a pretty laid-back visit,” he said. “I really only took a look at the football facility and got to talk to Coach (Mel) Tucker a little bit, but that was pretty much it. They had a 7-on-7 tournament going on there at the same time.”

“In my view, I classify them as a great school, a great program,” he said. “Obviously, I’d like to develop a better relationship with Coach Tucker. I’m starting to right now, that visit helped a lot. But I know he likes me, and I like him. Obviously, they’re one of the best schools in the country so I want to continue developing that relationship.”
