2020 RB Jaden Hullaby on Spartans offer, July ASU visit

ARLINGTON, Tex. – One look at Bishop Dunne running back Jaden Hullaby and it’s obvious why he has been one of the most popular names at his position out of Texas in 2020.

Although much of his offseason has been spent catching passes at camps and in 7-on-7 events, there’s no denying his size has teams envisioning a future with him wearing down defenses as a punishing runner. Big Ten programs in particular have their sights set on the big back and he’s eyed one up as well with his junior season right around the corner.

“I’m trying to see how teams like Boston College and Michigan State are working to get better over the course of the year,” he said. “I know that Michigan State had a pretty good season last year, so hopefully they can win a Big Ten championship.”

The Spartans dabble in Texas with a select number of players in Texas and were down to see Hullaby in person during the spring. He said that he’s interested in how things will continue with them, but in the meantime, some more regional programs are on his agenda. Baylor was his most recent visit this summer, and he’ll be at Arizona State at the end of this month with teammates Coby Cavil and Elijah Yelverton.

“That’s who I talk to the most,” he said of the Bears. “The last time I was out there for a visit was on June 8 and I feel like I’m a very high priority for them.”

On his expectation for the Arizona State visit

“They’re trying to get me down there and I just need to see it so I can get comfortable with it,” he said. “I just want it to be a family atmosphere – to feel welcome and comfortable with the coaches out there.”

On Michigan State

“I’ve liked them since I was a kid, so I’m a big fan of theirs,” he said. “They’ve got a little more of a pull, if they do well this season, that would help a lot. I’ll probably have to wait till my official visit to see them, but I’ll make it up there.”
