PLANO – 2020 five-star offensive tackle Myles Hinton made the long journey last weekend from Atlanta simply to watch his Greater Atlanta Christian teammates play in a waterlogged game at Prestonwood Christian Academy on Saturday night.

Hinton was held out of the game as he is recovering from a shoulder injury, but he did his best to contribute while on sideline duty.

“I think I’m about a week away or so, but I’m not really sure,” he said. “I was pretty pumped at every part of the game, I was cheering and trying to keep everyone having a good attitude, but that’s not everything. I wish I could have been out there doing what I do, but I’ve got to let it heal.”

His older brother, five-star defensive lineman and Michigan commit, Christopher Hinton, tried his best to pick up the slack on both sides of the ball, but PCA ended up holding on to a narrow victory. Although he insists that his brother’s commitment to the Wolverines isn’t heavily influencing his own recruitment, he did say that his feeling toward Michigan is strong, but it’s going to be a race with a few other teams like Oklahoma and Stanford that have also made him a top priority.

IN HIS WORDS

On Michigan

“I love them – they’re probably my number-one right now,” he said. “I don’t know if they are going to change or drop, but I love them right now.”

“We kind of keep the recruiting out of the house,” he said. “If we didn’t, we’d be talking about it all the time, but [family] doesn’t really pressure me to go to Michigan, they want me to find the best situation for myself. So I don’t feel like I get that much pressure from them.”

On Oklahoma

“They’re probably on me the hardest right now,” he said. “I might be able to make it out there soon … I’ve talked to a few coaches, but things are still pretty early in the process with them.

“I like how they play, they play hard. I like their offensive line, it’s always pretty big.”

On his relationship with Stanford, where he plans to visit in October

“It’s pretty tight,” he said. “The coaches have been talking to me since the first day. I just want to build that relationship more … I don’t know what they would have to do to make me like them more than everyone else, I guess one day I’ll just get that feeling about where I want to go, but I don’t know that right now.”
