COPPELL, Tex. -- This spring has already been an eventful one for 2020 defensive back RJ Mickens, and he’s just getting started.
On Friday, he was announced as part of the first Rivals100 for the 2020 class. Two weeks before making a stop by the Dallas event of the Rivals 3 Stripe Camps presented by adidas, he made his latest visit to Oklahoma. Next week he’ll take a visit to Notre Dame, and before the end of spring, he plans on making stops at Clemson and Ohio State.
Prior to all that, Mickens was in College Station as part of the group of recruits in attendance for Texas A&M’s Super Bowl party recruiting event. The visit was an opportunity for him to get better acquainted with new cornerbacks coach Maurice Linguist and defensive coordinator Mike Elko, but he said that his prior relationship with Terry Price has been the most important connection to the program.
“They got a new DB coach, so I’ve been trying to get into contact with him more,” he said. “Of course, I’ve been talking with Coach Price, me and him are real tight. They’re on the list of schools I want to get back to.”
