2020 3-Star LB Corey Flagg recaps an active spring
HOUSTON, Tex. – With June coming to an end and the recruiting calendar slowing down, 2020 North Shore linebacker Corey Flagg has been getting in a couple of last looks before the dead period begins.
This week, with highly recruited teammates Damieon George and five-star running back Zach Evans, he’s been on a journey that’s included Alabama, Auburn, LSU and Mississippi State. He’s already picked up a couple of early offers but thinks that after this spring and getting in front of more eyeballs, more offers could follow.
“Spring’s been going good, man, it’s been going real good,” he said. “Especially when you’re going up against the number-one running back [Evans], iron sharpens iron, so it’s been going really good.”
Of the three offers that Flagg holds already, it seems as though Texas Tech has found its way into a favorable early position. He visited Lubbock in April and said it was one of the biggest highlights of his spring.
IN HIS WORDS
On Texas Tech
“I speak most with Coach Zac Spavital,” he said. “I really like the campus out there and I really like the relationship I have with him … The way that they treated my family and we felt like we were already home, we really liked the campus and facility. It was nice.”
“When you look at a guy like Dakota Allen and you see the role that he plays; can come downhill and can cover, that’s what they have been kind of telling me I can expect,” he said. “They have been talking about a like a 3-4 inside linebacker or sometimes outside, so a little of everything.”
