2019 Washington QB Cale Millen on UCLA visit: "It was awesome"

The Latest: Growing up as a the son of a former Pac-12 star, Class of 2019 quarterback Cale Millen knows what it means to have a chance to play in the conference. So when he picked up an offer from UCLA earlier this year, he couldn’t help but be excited. Rivals.com had a chance to catch up with Millen at the recent Los Angeles stop of the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp Series presented by adidas to talk about the offer and his visit to the UCLA campus.

In His Words: “I got the offer in the beginning of February and it was kind of a surprise because I haven’t been down there before other than when I was in the eighth grade. But Coach Mora knows my dad because they played together so he knew I was going to grow and he said they’ve been keeping an eye on me ever since. It was awesome to get that offer. It’s an honor to get an offer from UCLA. They’re a great school and a great tradition.”

Thoughts on the offense: “I like it, I think it fits me. I’m a pocket passer so I think that would be a great college for me.”

Thoughts on the visit: “It was awesome. I got to see the new facility they are working on, which will be done soon. I also got to watch the practice. It was a very cool experience and I love the coaches and it seems like a place I could definitely see myself at.”

On which school might be next to offer: “Utah. I recently visited there and I watched practice and I liked it. Washington is talking to me, too, so we’ll see how it goes.”

Rivals Reaction: Millen’s recruitment is just getting started but it’s clear that UCLA sees something special in him. Several schools will be out to see him throw in the spring and he will also be making trips to throw in the summer so if coaches like what they see expect others to join the Bruins on his offer list.
