2019 S.C. WR Jacoby Pinckney on Virginia Tech: "They treat me really well"

The Latest: Class of 2019 South Carolina wide receiver Jacoby Pinckney is still in the early stages of his recruitment but that hasn’t stopped some big-time programs from joining his offer list in recent months. Right now he’s still developing relationships with staffs, but said Virginia Tech is among the programs recruiting him the hardest at the moment. Rivals.com caught up with Pinckney at the recent Charlotte stop of the Rivals 3-Stripe Camp Series presented by adidas to talk Hokies.

In His Words: “Some of the schools doing a good job of keeping up with me are Virginia Tech, North Carolina, Georgia and Wake Forest.”

On Virginia Tech: “They just do a good job of keeping in contact. They treat me really well when I’m up there. That’s just a good program. I saw they had a guy drafted at my position the other day and it obviously shows they have the coaching to put wide receiver in the league and that’s a plus. I’ve been up there about three times for visits. Right now they have a need at the receiver position so that’s a plus. It’s nice up there in Blacksburg and they have a good coaching staff that is helping turn things around.”

On South Carolina to Virginia Tech pipeline: “I’m going to be comfortable wherever I got but it’s nice to see them recruiting guys from here and them going up there and having success.”

On Upcoming Visits: “I don’t have any visits coming until the summer. I want to see Georgia, Virginia Tech again, North Carolina and maybe Ohio State. Georgia wants me to visit. I haven’t been there before. They like my film and my size so I want to check them out.”

Rivals Reaction: Pinckney has already made multiple trips to Virginia Tech over the past year so it makes sense that the Hokies are among his early favorites. With more schools likely to join the mix this spring and summer it will be up to the staff to keep outpacing the competition when it comes to his recruitment.
