2019 in-state QB enjoyed LSU camp, ready to get back on campus soon

Lance Legendre ()

The Latest: Warren Easton High School has produced its fair share of talent over the years and one of the names that has people at the school buzzing about his future is Class of 2019 prospect Lance Legendre. The quarterback is expected to be the starter this fall, but he's not waiting until the seasons change to get his recruitment started. Legendre camped with in-state program LSU earlier this month and plans on being back on campus for another audition soon. Rivals.com caught up with Legendre to get his thoughts on the Tigers and his showing at camp.

In His Words: "This will be my first year as the starter but I’ve been going out this summer and working out for schools just so they can get familiar with me. I went to LSU recently and it was a nice experience. I got to show what I can do, ran the 40, tested my speed and my arm strength and they taught me some things. Coach Cameron was out there coaching us up, working on our drop backs, teaching us how to work with the receivers. When I came in there they knew who I was, greeted me and made me feel comfortable. They told me they just want to see more from me and see how I do on the field in a real game. I think I just need to have a good year and I think once I get some film it will help me a lot."

Rivals Reaction: It's never too early to start checking in on quarterbacks so LSU is smart to keep an eye on Legendre, who looks like a versatile talent. Assuming all goes well on the field this fall, he could be a prospect in line to receive attention from several other programs as well.
