CEDAR HILL, Tex. -- Dylan Wright put his name on the map in a hurry earlier this summer, nearly making a clean sweep when it came to picking up offers from every school that had been a part of an adidas satellite camp series in June.

He very well could have added Tennessee to the mix a little more than a week ago when he showed up in Knoxville for a visit with fellow 2019 four-star receiver Trejan Bridges, had the coaches been around to see him. After showing up for the second half of last weekend’s Prime 21 camp, he talked about gearing up for his next camp appearance - at TCU’s Friday Night Lights event on June 22.

He didn’t immediately report picking up an offer from the Horned Frogs, but he wants to add TCU to his collection. He said that 2017 signee Jalen Reagor’s father, Montae Reagor, who had been a coach at Ennis - where Wright plays his high school ball - has been pushing him to make a visit to the school.

“I just need more offers,” he said. “I have been talking a little bit with one of the linemen coaches up there, but really it’s been Coach Reagor that has been talking to me about them. He tells me he knows the coaches like me but I have to get out there and see the school.”

Otherwise, his reviews of Tennessee were positive. Even though the staff might not have been around to start the process of getting to know him, he should be on their radar as Ennis coaches have been working the phone lines with the Vols staff to have a look at him at some point.

“One of my coaches has been talking about me to them,” he said. “On the visit it was just people around the school that showed us around; we just went to go look. Really I was impressed with how cool it was out there, though.”

Maybe the most critical detail of the visit was when Wright and Bridges got a peek at what they could look like in a few years playing in the Vols’ uniforms.

“I look real good,” he said. “I really like the orange.”

RIVALS REACTION

If Wright didn’t come away with a TCU offer on Friday night, he shouldn’t have to wait long for them to make a move, depending on how many receivers the Frogs might be looking to take in next year’s class. He’s truly the type of prospect that is capable of picking up offers just by walking in the room, and would have had more before this summer had he not been a quarterback for his team last season.

Of course, there are going to be areas of his technique that he will continue to fine-tune throughout the upcoming season, but he’s as physically impressive of a prospect as can be found in the state with sky-high potential and motivation to succeed.
