ALVIN, Tex. -- After a disappointing loss to Manvel in the first round of the playoffs, 2019 Houston-Madison cornerback Bobby Wolfe said that the next thing on his agenda is taking place in the classroom, not the football field.

The four-star prospect has seen a renewed interest in his recruitment to close out his fall, but that’s not the main priority for the time being.

“I’m just really trying not to rush it,” he said. “Right now I’m trying to take care of my grades. I know those other big offers are going to come, so that’s what I’m focused on right now.”

This could be an interesting spring for Wolfe, a former Ole Miss commit. He took three unofficial visits during the season to Houston, LSU, and Texas, but said that the Rebels staff has still kept him a top priority.

“They just have been telling me to keep them in mind,” he said. “Even though I de-committed from there, they still show me a lot of love. They still love me.”

IN HIS WORDS

The bullet points from his unofficial visits this season

“When I went down to UT, my boy Holton Hill was coaching me up and stuff.”

“They took care of me down at U of H. The coaching staff treated me good and I really appreciated it.”

“LSU? That’s just family down there.”

RIVALS REACTION

Spring should be an interesting opportunity for Wolfe to capitalize more on the attention that he’s earned this year. Manvel scored early and often on Thursday night, which didn’t lead to a great situation for Wolfe and his teammates, so he’ll be looking to put that behind him during the camp season. In the meantime, he said one other school could come in an instantly shake up his recruitment with an offer.

“If (Texas) A&M offers me, I’d love to go out to College Station,” he said. “If my boys Leon (O’Neal) and JP [Jalen Preston] are going to be there, I’m going to be looking at them.”
