2019 3-Star WR Jabari Khepera gives Jayhawks a look

DALLAS, Tex. – 2019 Bishop Dunne wide receiver Jabari Khepera got his recruitment going this spring with four FBS offers.

One school that has yet to offer, but could start looking his way soon, is Kansas. Khepera was in Lawrence a few weeks ago for an appearance in the USA Track & Field Junior Olympics with teammates Marquez Beason and Jalen Drayton.

An unofficial visit on campus was a nice addition to a successful showing at the meet, where the trio was part of a 4x100 Relay team that set a new national record.

“(The KU staff) said that they like us a lot and that they’re going to try and check us out in our third game against Fayetteville [Arkansas],” he said. “When I went up there, it was nice. I know Laquivionte Gonzalez, he used to run for our track team, he said that he likes it up there. I think Kansas is a great school.”

Khepera has already been offered by Kansas State, Mississippi State, Utah and UTSA, but after 2018 Rivals250 defensive tackle and teammate Calvin Avery committed to Illinois, he thinks that the Illini could start showing some interest in him as well.

2018 three-star offensive tackle Kievan Myers also committed to Illinois earlier this spring, and Beason has kept the Illini in his recently released Top 12.

“I got some video sent to their coaches and they said they liked me a lot,” Khepera said.

RIVALS REACTION

Bishop Dunne is loaded with talent at wide receiver this year, with Beason set to be the lead dog on offense. Beason’s cousin, Zeriah Beason, is another good-looking prospect, as is 2018 receiver Jarel Miller. Dunne has plenty of weapons at its disposal for the next few years, but if Khepera can keep pace with Maquez Beason this season, he could see that offer list balloon in a hurry.
