2018 WR Johnson already has trio of SEC offers

He just wrapped up his freshman season at Nashville (Tenn.) Brentwood Academy, but Class of 2018 wide receiver Camron Johnson is quickly become a name to know for recruiting observers in the Southeast.
The 6-foot, 176-pound speedster already has offers from Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Ole Miss and is on the radar for several other programs.

"Coaches were coming by our school last month but Tennessee and Ole Miss are the most aggressive right now," he said. "Coach Thigpen and I from Tennessee probably talk to the most."
The versatile athlete could play multiple positions at the next level depending on how he develops, but said the Vols are focused on recruiting him as a wide receiver.
"They are telling me I would fit great into what they do," Johnson said. "They keep telling me that I'm high on their list for my class."
Coming into this past season, Johnson said he was just hoping to crack the playing rotation. After having a monster year he said he's still getting used to being a recruit.
"I was really surprised," Johnson said of the early offers. "I didn't even expect it. Coming into this year I was just hoping to get some playing time on varsity because I was a freshman so for me to get offers by the end of my freshman year was really surprising to me."
Johnson is also an accomplished basketball player and said that his basketball schedule has kept him from getting out and taking as many visits as he would have liked. That's something he hopes to change soon.
"I was supposed to visit Ole Miss recently but I missed it because of basketball," he said. "I want to get there and see them soon and I want to visit Tennessee as well."
