2018 WR JaRary Jenkins hopes to follow in brother's footsteps at LSU

JaRay Jenkins ()

The Latest: Class of 2018 prospect JaRay Jenkins comes from a family that has produced its share of athletes in the past and now he's hoping to be the next in that long line. His brother, David Jenkins, was a Rivals250 prospect in 2011 who spent time with both LSU and TCU and now JaRay is hoping to follow in his footsteps and earn a scholarship offer from the Tigers as well. Rivals.com caught up with Jenkins to get the latest on his recruitment.

In His Words: "I’ve been out camping at a lot of schools. I’ve been to LSU, Florida, I’m going to TCU this weekend. LSU was a good experience for me. Of course my brother played there and stuff so it was cool to have my chance to show what I could do. I would love to follow in his footsteps if that becomes a possibility. When I got there the coaches know who I am because some of them have been around. They told me I did well and they like how I’m progressing. They just told me I need to keep working hard and show my improvement. I’ll be back on campus for a their camp later this month and I'm going to work out again."

Rivals Reaction: The first Jenkins didn't exactly live up to his potential with the Tigers but that shouldn't stop the current LSU staff from taking a long look at the latest Jenkins. During his time in Dallas at the Prime21 camp held by Deion Sanders, Jenkins more than held his own while battling some of the top defensive backs in his class. Expect him to pick up his first offer, whether it's from LSU or another program, sooner rather than later.
