2018 Ga. ATH Terell Smith says Kentucky is recruiting him hardest

The Latest: Kentucky was one of the first schools to offer Class of 2018 athlete Terell Smith and it appears as if the early work by the Wildcats is paying off. According to Smith, Kentucky continues to show him the most attention, despite other schools, including Missouri, recently joining his offer list. Rivals.com caught up with Smith to get the latest on his recruitment as well as his plans to visit Lexington.

In His Words: "Kentucky is talking to me the most. They have told me they‘re going to be recruiting me hard and they want me to get up there and see some home games. They see me as an athlete right now so they’re not sure if I would play offense or defense for them. I have a good relationship with Coach House, the special teams coach, he’s a great coach. They offered me in May and then I went up for their camp over the summer. It was great. The new facilities and everything are impressive and I had fun. I’m not sure which game I’m going to go to yet. It depends on my schedule. Hopefully they have a good season this year."

Rivals Reaction: It's still very early in the process but it's clear Kentucky holds the early lead for the versatile playmaker. Getting him to campus for a visit during the season could also be a major positive for the Wildcats. As Smith's junior season moves along he figures to pick up more offers, so the earlier Kentucky can get ahead of the pack the better. Other schools to watch for Smith in the future include Penn State and Virginia Tech, although neither has offered to date.
