2017 WR Matthews already has big offers

Class of 2017 Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast wide receiver D.J. Matthews spent the spring gathering offers from some of the country's top schools, but he's still get used to all the recruiting attention.
"Right now everyone is equal," the 6-foot-1, 175-pounder said. "I like Florida State and I like Coach Dawsey but I don't have a favorite this early."

Other schools that have caught Matthews' eye early in the process include South Carolina and USC, with the Gamecocks getting a recent visit.
"I like Coach Spurrier," Matthews said. "I went to South Carolina last week for the game. I had a great time out there."
Matthews is teammates with current South Carolina commits Sherrod Pittman and Jerad Washington, both of who are already in his ear about joining them in Columbia.
"They're working on me for sure," Matthews said.
With a trip to South Carolina already in the books, Matthews said he's looking forward to taking more trips soon.
"I want to go out to visit USC and Florida State and Miami," he said. "I like USC's style of play, they play fast and they throw the ball a lot in the Pac-12."
