2017 QB lands UCLA offer

UCLA offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone landed a quarterback for the 2016 class on Wednesday and wasted no time in identifying a target for 2017.
Three-star pro-style quarterback Ryan Kelley picked up a scholarship offer from the Bruins on Wednesday night and the 6-foot-2, 173-pound prospect from Chandler (Ariz.) Basha was ecstatic to receive the news.

"I just love the school and I really like the coaching staff there," Kelley said. "It's an amazing school with a great combination of academics and football program. I watched the spring game on television and they looked good.
"I'm just very blessed for this opportunity and thankful to everyone that has been helping me throughout this process."
Kelley, who had a solid performance at the inaugural Rivals Quarterback Challenge Presented by Under Armour at Fullerton College two months ago, also holds an early offer from Arizona State.
The spring evaluation period has been a busy time for Kelley, with Texas A&M, North Carolina and Michigan State all showing new interest.
"With Arizona State, everything is going well right now," Kelley said. "I keep in contact with coach (Mike) Norvell and I really like him. I haven't really thought too deeply about offenses and things like that, but I do think I'd be a good fit in both ASU and UCLA's spread offenses."
Kelley said he intends to visit the Bruins this summer to get a closer look at everything the program has to offer. UCLA picked up a commitment from three-star quarterback Matt Lynch for the 2016 class on Wednesday.
"Coach (Noel) Mazzone and I have a good relationship and I really like him, too," Kelley said. "He's a cool guy and very down to earth. I feel like we bond well. He's told me I'm a phenomenal quarterback and that he wants me there."
Kelley passed for 3,108 yards and 30 touchdowns as a sophomore last season. He also rushed for 277 yards and four more scores.
