2017 phenom adds Miami offer to list

As the younger brother of former Florida Gators standout defensive back Major Wright, Class of 2017 Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons defensive back Daniel Wright grew up around the Florida program. But as a resident of South Florida, it was another in-state program that he actually grew up rooting for and that school recently joined his offer list.
"I got an offer from Miami at the camp earlier this month," the 6-foot-2, 175-pound rising sophomore said. "It was an honor for me. I was talking to Coach Al Golden and we had a great time out there. He wanted me to take a tour around the school and I did. It was a great tour. I liked the facilities and everything and throughout I was thinking I hope I can be there one day."

While his brother was taking recruiting visits, Wright said he got a chance to attend more than his fair share of college games, including some featuring the Hurricanes.
"I remember going to a game there when Devin Hester was playing," Wright said. "It was a great time and remember thinking I hope I can be here one day and when I was camping and they offered I realized that it happened."
The offer from the Hurricanes adds to an impressive list for Wright. Miami joins Florida, Michigan State, Clemson among others.
With so many big programs on his list, Wright said he's turning his focus to visits, with Florida next on his list.
"I was supposed to go last week but I couldn't make it," he said. " This week or next week will be the time I visit. I'm hoping to see a lot when I go up there because the coaches have wanted me to go up there for a while and I haven't had a chance so we'll see how it goes."
Other schools Wright said he's hoping to visit soon include Clemson, Michigan and Michigan State.
