2017 Louisville commit talks Cardinals

Class of 2017 Miramar (Fla.) defensive back Brian Edwards committed to Louisville last month, but that hasn't stopped other schools from calling. But at least for now, the 6-foot-2, 174-pound prospect is holding them at bay.
"I'm still talking to Louisville the most," he said. "Me and Coach Buckley have a real good relationship. I think he's a really good coach."

With Louisville active in South Florida on the recruiting trail, Edwards said he sees Buckley on a semi-regular basis.
"We talk on social media and stuff like that," Edwards said. "He always stops into my school when he's down here recruiting."
Having committed to the Cardinals in December, Edwards said he paid close attention to the team's bowl game.
"It was a tough one against Georgia," he said. "But I know they'll come back next year and be ready to compete with the best."
Edwards is listed in the Rivals.com database as a safety, but said he plans on playing another position with the Cardinals.
"They see me as a corner," he said. "They think with my size that as a corner I could be something special."
In addition to 7-on-7, Edwards said he's planning on a busy spring of camps and visits.
