2017 LB talk Vols offer, UGA visit

Class of 2017 Marietta (Ga.) Kell linebacker Solon Page III had a busy summer, netting his first offer courtesy of Tennessee. Now he's hoping his play on the field this season will help him add more offers.
The 6-foot-2, 187-pound Page was recently on campus at Georgia, where he drew some attention from the Bulldogs coaches.

"I went up for the Georgia-Clemson game and that was actually the first college football game I had ever been to," Page said. "I got a chance to talk to Coach Friend and Coach Sherrer, who coached me when I went up their for camp. They told me that they're watching me and to keep playing well."
Page said he liked what he saw while on campus as well.
"It was really cool," Page said. "They took us down on the field before the game and we got a chance to see the players get ready. Then they took us to our seats and we were right by the band and the student section and it was a crazy atmosphere."
As far as the Vols, Page is hoping to get to Knoxville for a game soon but continues to talk with the coaches. He said picking up his first offer from an SEC program was quite the honor.
"It was really big because I wasn't expecting it," Page said. "When I camped there it was the first time I had ever been to a camp on campus at a school. I wasn't expecting a whole lot but when they offered I was really happy."
Page said he and Vols assistant Tommy Thigpen have developed a nice relationship, dating all the way back to last spring.
"We already had a relationship before I went there and camped," Page said. "When I got there, he sort of challenged me, to show that I am as good as I think. Then I showed out, I made some plays and a few days later they gave me the offer."
Page said he's not planning anymore in-season visits at this time while he focuses on his junior year, but said that may change as things go alone.
"I got hurt our first game but I will be back next week," he said. "I just want to focus on our season and after that we'll see what happens."
In the one game he played this year, Page recorded five tackles.
