2017 LB gets first B1G, ACC offers on same day

The beginning of a player's recruitment is always exciting but it isn't often when he gets his first two offers from a Big Ten and ACC school on the same day. That's what happened to Olney (Md.) Good Counsel sophomore linebacker Jordan Anthony earlier this week when Clemson and Iowa offered him.
"I'm still in shock that it happened," said the 6-foot-1, 210-pound Anthony. "It's a really good feeling. I'm excited."

Anthony is brand new to the recruiting world and hasn't done much research on schools yet.
"I don't know much about Clemson, to tell you the truth," he said. "I know my cousin goes there so I need to talk to her about the school. I'm not too familiar with either of the programs.
"I haven't really gotten to talk to Iowa yet," Anthony said. "Hopefully though come back during the summer and I can talk to them about the schools than.
"I know Clemson didn't look that bad against Florida State earlier in the season," he said. "They look like they have a nice program going on. I could see Iowa working on some things but I haven't followed them that much this year."
This weekend Anthony is taking his very first recruiting visit with his teammate Joshua Paschal to Kentucky.
"I just hope to go up there and meet some of the coaches and find out what they are like about," said Anthony. "I want to learn more about the school and talk with some of the coaches."
As a sophomore, Anthony has racked up 37.5 tackles, three sacks, six and a half tackles for a loss, one pass breakup and one forced fumble.
