2017 FL DB talks UGA visit, love from Indiana

Class of 2017 Tallahassee (Fla.) North Florida Christian defensive back Terrell Powell got his first taste of SEC football last month when he was on hand for the Georgia-Tennessee game.
"It was good, especially because they won," said Powell, who went on the trip with 2015 Rivals250 defensive back Ronnie Harrison. "I enjoyed it. After the game we got a chance to see the practice facilities and the weight room and everything. It's huge, I really liked it."

Despite only being a sophomore, Powell is on the 'Dawgs radar thanks to his relationship with Jeremy Pruitt, who has been aware of Powell since his days as an eighth grader who was playing varsity football.
"He was already recruiting me when he was at Florida State," Powell said. "I've been keeping in touch with him since he left and he wanted me to come up and see what they have to offer there."
Powell is also a regular visitor at nearby Florida State and said he expects the Seminoles to start showing more love as his career moves along.
"I go there for pretty much every home game," Powell said. "I know a couple of the players there so I like to go see them play and sometimes they will come watch me play. The coaches there always tell me they are watching me and they are going to keep recruiting me. I enjoy the games and the coaches but it's really close to home and I'm thinking I might want to go to school a little farther away."
While he's waiting on his first scholarship offer, Powell said he thinks it could be coming soon.
"Every Sunday I take time to call coaches and check in and the one school that always answers is Indiana," Powell said. "They came down last week to pay a visit to my school and they want to bring me up for a visit in the spring. I think if I go there and visit and show that I'm interested they will be my first offer."
Powell said that he and Indiana assistant coach Noah Joseph are building a solid relationship.
"He's a good coach and he seems like a cool guy," Powell said. "It meant a lot that they came down and saw me and I'm pretty interested. They have talked about an offer but I think that will come after the season or when I go up there."
Other schools showing interest in Powell include Mississippi State, TCU, Kentucky, N.C. State, Southern Miss and Fresno State. On the season Powell has 46 tackles, 10 pass deflections and two interceptions on defense. He also has four touchdowns and 98 yards rushing on offense.
