UConn Basketball has added another forward to its 2017 recruiting haul as Isaiah Whaley has committed to Kevin Ollie and the Huskies, according to Rivals' Corey Evans.

The 6-foot-9 forward made his commitment while on an official visit in Storrs. He chose the Huskies over offers from Providence, Seton Hall, Memphis, and the University of Georgia, among others. Assistant coach Ricky Moore was his primary recruiter.

Whaley joins Tyler Polley and Josh Carlton as incoming freshmen for UConn in the class of 2017. All three have similar size but bring different skills to the table. Polley is more of an inside-out player in the DeAndre Daniels mold while Carlton is more of a banger down low with great passing skills for a big.

Evans describes Whaley as a "long bodied big man that has his game headed in the right direction." and also a "long, active athlete; producer 15-feet and in. Rebounds the ball, versatile on D."

The Huskies still have three scholarship openings remaining heading into next season. There are a few transfer options who may be in the mix, including two from UMass, and the Huskies are also expected to still be in the mix for promising 2017 guard Tremont Waters.

Sidney Wilson, a 4-star recruit ranked 58th in the class of 2018, has UConn on his final six and is also on campus for a visit.
