2016 TE now at seven offers

Cincinnati (Ohio) Moeller 2016 tight end Jake Hausmann was already a known name before the spring evaluation period began, but his offer list has grown significantly in the last 15 days.
"Indiana, Louisville, Ohio State, Virginia and Florida State have been the most recent in the past few weeks," Hausmann said. "It came up pretty fast. I was definitely expecting offers, but in that amount of time it was definitely shocking."

The 6-foot-4, 226-pound Hausmann has been receiving advice to take his recruitment slow, not to rush and to take his visits. He plans to start taking visits in the coming months, but one of his new offers is a school he is already plenty familiar with.
"Both of my parents went [to Ohio State] so every Saturday I was watching them and grew up a huge Ohio State fan," Hausmann said. "My sister goes there now, so I have gone there a lot. That definitely caught my attention and they are definitely up there."
Hausmann plans to talk on the phone with Ohio State assistant Kerry Coombs either Wednesday or Thursday and head coach Urban Meyer later this week as well. He has not set a visit to Columbus yet, but could discuss that during those calls.
Meanwhile, the offer from the defending national champion Florida State Seminoles has also caught Hausmann's attention.
"I had called down and talked to the coach a little bit and they offered me," Hausmann said. "It was a huge shock. I didn't think they would come up this far north. The coach liked what they saw in me and thought I would fit their offense well, just like Nick O'Leary does at tight end."
No dates have been scheduled to travel to Tallahassee yet, but Hausmann does want to check out the Seminoles at some point in the future.
Cincinnati and Illinois had previously offered Hausmann, so his offer list stands at seven as he prepares to finish his sophomore year of high school. Additional schools are interested and he is in the process of learning about all the schools showing him attention.
"I talked to Notre Dame a little bit recently and I really like the coach that recruits Cincinnati," Hausmann said. "I like Virginia a lot just because of their academics. It was a quick call, but I like what they are doing and I think I could fit in there."
Hausmann is coming off a standout performance at the Rivals Camp Series presented by Under Armour this past Saturday where he was one of the top underclassmen in attendance.
