2016 Rivals250 QB Byrd talks Stanford, South Carolina

After a busy summer, Class of 2016 Kathleen (Ga.) Veterans and Rivals250 quarterback Logan Byrd has a few more offers, is still really waiting for his recruitment to come into focus. Byrd's last on the field camp took place at South Carolina, where he impressed the Gamecocks coaches.
"They said they were impressed with my quickness," Byrd said. "I think I can do both things, I'm a passer first but I can use my feet, too. They told me they have six guys on their board and I'm one of them. They didn't tell me the order but I know they have a guy they really like so we'll see what happens."

Byrd's summer camps including trips to North Carolina, Duke, Virginia Tech and Stanford among others. He said he was most impressed with his trip out west.
"It was really nice at Stanford," he said. "Going out there was a change of scenery. They haven't offered any guys in my class yet but that would be a big-time offer. It's far away and I don't know if mom would like that too much but it's a place I would consider for sure."
The Cardinal have done a nice job recruiting the state of Georgia in recent years and Byrd said he's well aware of the mini pipeline the school is building to the Southeast.
"They have six or so guys from Georgia on the team so that would be nice to know there are other guys out there like me."
