2016 Rivals100 DB enjoys first FSU visit

Class of 2016 Rivals100 defensive back Khalil Ladler made his first trip to Florida State over the weekend and the Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson product came away pretty impressed.
"They have a great fan base," the 5-foot-11, 168-pound prospect said. "It was kind of live, the crowd was really going and enjoyed it quite a bit."

As the No. 65 overall player in the 2016 class, Ladler has plenty of offers and said that when it comes to the ACC, nobody is higher on his list than the Seminoles.
"They're my top ACC school right now," Ladler said. "That's the top one I'm looking at, then probably Miami."
Following Florida State's overtime victory, Ladler got a chance to spend time with Florida State defensive coordinator Charles Kelly.
"He said he really loves me and they really want me in garnet and gold," Ladler said. "I thought their defense did really good on that fourth down stop. I believe they stepped it up and held it down for the offense. Overall they did a pretty good job."
Despite having offers from most of college football's major players, Ladler hasn't taken many college visits. He brought his parents with him on this trip and said his mother also enjoyed the trip.
"I haven't been to many schools but I thought Florida State was kind of nice," the laid back Ladler said. "My mom, she loved it. She likes to come on the trips and tell me what she thinks. She just likes going to see the schools but I will make the decision when it comes down to it."
This weekend, Ladler will be in Athens to watch Georgia and Tennessee.
"I already know how Georgia is because I've been there before," Ladler said. "Bu ti know their crowd is going to be live because that's a big game."
As a sophomore in 2013, Ladler had 53 tackles, six interceptions and three forced fumbles.
