2016 OL has early Michigan State offer

A total of four prospects from the state of Michigan's 2016 class already are reporting Division I offers. Traverse City West offensive tackle Thiyo Lukusa is the only one sporting a Michigan State offer, though.
"I camped there for a day on June 12," Lukusa said. "I thought I did alright - there were things I needed to work on, but overall I thought I did pretty well. They just liked the way I worked. They said there were things I needed to work on, but they think I'll get it by the time I'm a senior."

The 6-foot-5, 300-pound Lukusa did not receive the offer from the Spartans until a few weeks after camping in East Lansing.
"After camp I got Coach [Mark] Staten's number and he wanted me to keep in touch," Lukusa said. "I would call him every week, and we were talking one week when he made an offer.
"I was very excited. Being from Michigan State, it was cool and I was pumped… still am."
Lukusa also attended camps at Michigan, Northwestern and Penn State this summer. This early in the process he is considering all schools, but has had his interest piqued by the Michigan State offer.
"I like all the schools… but Michigan State has opened my eyes," Lukusa said.
