2016 LB Reid talks Vols offer

Class of 2016 linebacker Tyric Reid of Eustis (Fla.) received the first offer during spring from Tennessee. Florida Atlantic and Arkansas St. followed, bringing his total to three.
"My coach sent out film and one day he called me to his office and told me Tennessee offered me as a linebacker," said Reid, who stands at 5-foot-11, 228 pounds. "They told me I'd do very well there and that they want me to work on my speed and my hips. They like me at running back too."

Reid has heard good things about the school from current Vols running back Marlin Lane, whom Reid knows from playing with Lane's younger brother.
"I knew one of the running backs there," Reid said. "I talked to him and he said if you want to live a slowed-down life and experience new things, Knoxville is the place for you. They have a nice stadium and he told me if I ever wanted to come visit, just give him a call and let the coaches know I'll be coming up."
Reid's offer list could grow as he enters his junior season. He feels he's close to getting gofers from Georgia Tech, Florida International and Memphis.
So far this offseason he's visited FAU and Georgia Tech.
"Georgia Tech is a nice place," Reid said. "It's in the middle of the city and it's not far from home."
"I went through the camp," he said. "So I worked out with the coaches and they helped me on some things. I like the staff, the stadium and the locker room was nice."
Currently, Reid doesn't have any planned visits the remainder of the offseason, but is looking at scheduling a trip to Knoxville to see the Vols. It's early in the process for him, and no school is standing out yet.
"I really don't have a favorite," Reid said. "I'm just going through the recruiting process."
Reid finished last season with 98 tackles, seven forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery and 2 interceptions at linebacker and added 627 rushing yards and 5 touchdowns at running back.
