2016 LB Peterson high on Georgia, Georgia Tech

Class of 2016 three-star Tucker (Ga.) linebacker Tabarius Peterson already has three Big Five offers in hand, courtesy of Iowa, Georgia Tech and Syracuse, but that doesn't mean he's not hungry for more.
One of the schools he's really hoping to hear more from is Georgia.

"I think they're getting close to offering me, they're probably 75 percent of the way there," Peterson said. "It is close to home for me and I have former teammates there and guys I know. If I do go there then I know I will already have relationships and guys that I feel comfortable with."
Peterson, who was high school teammates with current Georgia players Jonathan Ledbetter, Detric Dukes and Dominic Sanders, said he's developing a good relationship with assistant Tracy Rocker.
"I've been keeping touch with him and he tells me they really like me," Peterson said. "He keeps telling me to get up there for a visit so I can hang out with the other guys and see how I fit in."
Peterson plays defensive end for his high school team and but translates to a linebacker at the next level. He said coaches have told him that playing out of position will actually help him at the next level.
"Most schools are saying that it's good that I'm learning to play with my hand in the dirt because it makes me more versatile," he said. "They know I can play standing up or with my hard in the dirt if needed."
One of the schools praising Peterson's versatility is Georgia Tech, and the Jackets have kept in regular contact since offering last year.
"I talk with Coach Smith quite a bit," Peterson said. "I went to the Miami game and he was one of the first people to greet me. He let me know how much they want me and that was a fun game to experience."
Peterson added that he was impressed with the season the Jackets had this past year.
"They had a great year and with the way their defense played I really think I would fit well in what they do," Peterson said.
This spring Peterson said he plans to visit both Georgia and Georgia Tech, as well as Florida State. As a junior Peterson had 44 total tackles, including five for loss and 1.5 sacks.
