2016 LB Brown blowing up

Playing at Potomac (Md.) Bullis School, it's a bit surprising that Cameron Brown's recruitment took so long to get started. The junior linebacker has some very high profile teammates in Penn State commit Jonathan Holland and 2016 Rivals100 quarterback Dwayne Haskins Jr.. Now Brown's recruitment has really picked up steam.
"It's definitely been fun," said the 6-foot-6, 200-pound Brown. "I love the process so far. It's been an amazing experience. First offer was from Old Dominion and then Boston College and West Virginia.

"When I first got the ODU offer it was a surprise because I didn't have any contact with them before it," he said. "I didn't know much about them. I watched a couple of their games on TV."
With an offer sheet now into double digits, Brown is starting to learn more about each school.
"I know a little bit about pretty much all of them," Brown said. "I know about Notre Dame and West Virginia but with the rest of them it's all basic knowledge. I'm doing research on them now to figure out which ones will be the best fit for me.
"Notre Dame, Boston College and Virginia are the best so far for me in academics," he said. "They are very prestigious and well know. Penn State is too. A lot of people are coming out of there and it's a great place."
Brown has already gotten out on the road a bit.
"My last visit was to Penn State for the Michigan State game," said Brown. "I was at Michigan State the weekend prior to that for the Rutgers game.
"It was definitely a good visit to Penn State," he said. "I got to see more of the campus than I expected. It was definitely a nice experience and felt kind of homey because Jonathan was up there with me. He was like a tour guide explaining everything to me. Meeting coach Franklin and everyone, they're nice people.
"Michigan State was nice just pretty cold," Brown said. "They have nice facilities up there and the coaching staff was very welcoming. The team is a bunch of nice guys too."
A few coaches have already been building relationships with Brown.
"Coach Franklin from Penn State, coach Booker from Notre Dame and coach Albert from Boston College have been in touch with me on the phone a couple times," he said. "Those three I have the most communication with. I talk to Iowa a lot too. They are very active with communicating with me. I don't know much about Iowa's school but I know they have a decent football team."
Brown thinks North Carolina could be the next to offer him.
