2016 LB adds 3 offers, waiting on Clemson

MORE: 2015 WR Howell adds two offers, talks UGA visit
He's just a rising junior, but things are starting to heat up for Roswell (Ga.) linebacker Tre Lamar. The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder recently added offers from Georgia Tech, North Carolina and South Carolina and said at least one more big-time program is close to pulling the trigger.

"I've been talking to Clemson a lot and I'm supposed to go there for a junior day next month," Lamar said. "I'm talking to them the most out of anybody right now, even though they haven't offered."
Lamar said he's really hitting off with the Tigers coaches, but is hoping to meet more of the staff during his upcoming visit.
"I like the coaches a lot," he said. "I've been talking to Coach Elliott a lot. I haven't got a chance to talk with coach (Brent) Venables yet and I need to talk to them before they can offer."
If Lamar gets any bigger, he might go from being a linebacker to a defensive end at the next level. He said the Clemson coaches want to see him in person to size him up with their own eyes.
"They like me as a defensive end or a linebacker," he said. "They want to see me there in March and get a look at me, and then maybe that's when they can offer."
Other trips on Lamar's upcoming agenda include South Carolina and Georgia Tech.
