2016 DT Perry talks Ole Miss, Miss. St. visits

It's been a tumultuous season for Class of 2016 three-star Memphis (Tenn.) Whitehaven defensive tackle Michael Perry. After transferring schools midseason he's been forced to sit out games, but even still, it hasn't slowed schools from recruiting him.
This past weekend Perry, who holds offers from Ole Miss and Tennessee among others, was on campus to watch Mississippi State hang on for a tight win over Arkansas.

"I thought it was good," the 6-foot, 327-pound Perry said. "I thought Arkansas was going to eventually pull it out but Mississippi State just kept forcing mistakes. It was good job by them to keep making plays and that's what good teams do."
Perry doesn't have an offer from the Bulldogs, but he's hoping that changes soon.
"They have told me they like my film and they like me as a player," Perry said. "We got there a little late so I didn't get to talk with the coaches like they wanted me to. They have been telling me they wanted me to come and meet everyone. I think I'm close to an offer from them so we will see."
Perry has visited several other schools this fall, including Purdue and Memphis, but said Ole Miss continues to stay on him the hardest.
"Ole Miss is always showing a lot of love when I visit," Perry said. "I like Coach Harris and Coach Kiffin. They were my second offer so they are always checking up on me, making sure everything is going well with me and I do the same for them."
Perry has five offers total, but said that number could grow if he does his part on the camp circuit this offseason.
"There are a lot of schools that want me to come to campus before they offer," He said. "Arkansas has talked to me a lot, the same with Kentucky. I will be camping a lot this summer. I need to be hitting it hard and getting out and showing what I can do."
Perry is scheduled to visit LSU this upcoming weekend, and also has plans to visit Ole Miss again and is also working to plan a trip to Auburn.
