2016 DE Madden talks Miss. St, Bama visits

When he picked up an offer from Mississippi State back in the spring, Class of 2016 three-star Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Northridge defensive end Jalen Madden was naturally excited. But now that the Bulldogs are the top team in the land and still recruiting Madden heavily, he ecstatic.
"I truly believe that they are the No. 1 team in the country and there's a reason they're No. 1," said Madden, who visited Starkville for the Texas A&M game earlier this month. "Their coaches keep talking to me and telling me how much they want me."

Being on campus for the Bulldogs big win over the Aggies was a special experience for Madden.
"It was really crazy up there but I loved it," the 6-foot-1, 275-pound Madden said. "The fans are the real deal, they had their cowbells and everything and they were really into the game. With their season going like it's going everyone up there is really excited."
The Bulldogs coaches have been quick to remind Madden why they offered him and according to him, they think he could be a nice fit into the school's defensive scheme.
"They were telling me to watch because they have the best defensive linemen in the country," he said. "They said they think I can be like them in the future. There were a lot of other big recruits there too and they said they are building something special."
Other schools showing interest in Madden include Alabama and Missouri and Madden said he took a visit to the nearby Tide for the Florida game earlier this season.
"It was really good to get there on campus and see everything up close," he said. "It was a really good atmosphere and the facilities and stuff were amazing. I got a chance to talk to Bo Davis and he's a really cool guy. He told me they like me and they could see me fitting in well there."
Madden is having a big junior season, playing both ways while helping Northridge to a playoff berth. For the year he has 50 solo tackles, six sacks, two fumble recoveries and an interception. He plans on visiting Alabama again soon and will also visit Florida State before the end of the year.
