2016 DB Brinson talks UK offer, SC camp

They say a prospect always remembers their first major offer and that's definitely the case for Class of 2016 Atlanta (Ga.) Mays defensive back Monquavion Brinson. The 5-foot-10 prospect earned an offer from Kentucky at camp earlier this summer and said he remembers it like it was yesterday.
"I went up to Kentucky and I had a feeling like I was going to get an offer," he said. "When I was doing one-on-ones I did well and got few interceptions and they moved me from my class to go against the guys that are going to be seniors. The defensive backs coach told me to go like three times then he watched me real close in drills and he wanted my name and my GPA. Then later called my coach later and told him they wanted to offer me. It was really exciting."

Brinson's summer tour saw him visit several schools in addition to the Wildcats, including a recent trip to South Carolina. He worked out at the Gamecocks Showcase event and said he received good feedback from the coaches.
"We talked after and they said I opened their eyes and they think I have good talent," Brinson said. "They're going to come and watch me play again in the fall. And they want me to come back up for some games too. That's an offer I want to get. I like the campus and I liked the tour they took us on. It was pretty cool."
Brinson said he expects to play corner and safety for Mays, which is projected to be one of the top teams in the Atlanta-area this fall.
