2015 Tenn. OT talks first offer

Class of 2015 Nashville (Tenn.) Montgomery Bell Academy offensive tackle Chad Mitchell has been waiting on his first scholarship offer for a while. So when it came last week courtesy of Arkansas State, he couldn't help but smile.
"It was really exciting," the 6-foot-4, 271-pound Mitchell said. "One of my friends at school told me I just couldn't stop smiling. I'm glad to have it."

Mitchell said his contact with the Red Wolves came out of the blue.
"I really hadn't talked to any of the coaches or been to any camps there but they came to my school and let my coach know that they wanted to offer," he said.
When it comes to the program, Mitchell said he's hoping to learn more now that the Red Wolves have offered.
"I know they're in the Sun Belt and they've had success there the past few years," he said. "It's a good start for me and I was really pumped about it. I know they go out and play big programs and they are very competitive with schools on their level."
With his first offer off his back, Mitchell said he's going to keep working hard and hope more visits this spring will lead to more offers.
"Middle Tennessee and Purdue are talking to me a lot," Mitchell said. "I'm getting letters from a bunch of other schools, too, but that's about it right now."
