2015 RB Strickland visits local school

Rutgers has been making significant progress with local recruits lately, including 2015 athlete Dontae Strickland. Strickland's high school, Monmouth Junction (N.J.) South Brunswick, is less than 30 minutes from the Rutgers campus so it will be key for the Scarlet Knights to make sure they land Strickland's commitment.
The 5-foot-11, 176-pound Strickland has offers from Virginia and Rutgers and he has been hearing from many other schools.

"I've been getting a lot of letters lately," Strickland said. "Rutgers, Ohio State, Vanderbilt and a few others are in contact with me. I haven't visited many schools so things will pick up after I do more visits."
Strickland knows of a few schools he wants to check out during the season.
"I definitely want to go to some Rutgers games," he said, "I'll probably see games at Maryland, West Virginia and maybe Ohio State because my brother lives out there."
On Tuesday, Strickland made the short trip to Piscataway to watch a Rutgers practice.
"It was good. I liked it a lot," he said. "They went live today because it was their first day in full pads. They run the same defense we do so I watched a lot of their reps. The coaches welcomed me on campus and this visit just reinforced everything I already thought about Rutgers."
Strickland was one of the top performers at the Rutgers Passing Camps earlier this offseason.
