Rivals100 defensive back Marcus Lewis added another big-time offer on Thursday when the Florida Gators decided to pull the trigger.
"I know Florida puts a lot of defensive backs in the league," the 6-foot-1, 180-pound Lewis said. "In the Swamp, they have a big crowd and it's a great place to play. They have good academics there as well. My boy Jalen Tabor is down there. I'll be there in March.
"I talked to coach (Brian) White. They're really interested in me and have been recruiting me hard. They just extended me the offer today. I'm going to be there for their spring game."
Lewis, a stand out junior at Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga, has a busy visit schedule lined up for the next few months.
"February 1 I'll be at Clemson's junior day," Lewis said. "I'll be at Virginia Tech's junior day on February 8. I'm not sure about it yet, but I'll either be at Boston College or Kentucky on February 15. On February 22 I'm going to try to get out to Ohio State. I'll visit Florida, Florida State and Miami during my spring break that starts on March 17 and goes until March 23."
Lewis thinks another national powerhouse is close to offering.
"Michigan's defensive backs coach, coach (Curt) Mallory, was at my school today," he said. "They are coming after me hard. I think they'll be the next one to offer me."
Lewis was a Virginia Tech commit but decommitted in early December.
