2015 OL Newsome adds another offer

The 2015 offensive linemen class in New Jersey is shaping up to be one of the best in recent memory. Rising junior Grant Newsome is looking like he is one of the best in the Garden State's 2015 class.
"I think all this is a huge honor," said the offensive tackle from Lawrenceville (N.J.) Lawrenceville Prep. "I've obviously been really pleased with all the offers that have come my way so far. I'm off to a good start and it's very early in the process."

Last weekend the 6-foot-7, 280-pound Newsome added his seventh offer.
"Duke is my latest offer," he said. "I picked that one up this past Saturday while I was on an unofficial visit. I thought the campus was beautiful. Duke has a lot of history and a lot of tradition. It was exciting to see all the facilities they have.
"I think everywhere I've gone I've been able to get a good first impression of the coaches and the feel of the program," Newsome said. "To form a full opinion I'd have to visit again and continue to keep in touch with the coaches."
Newsome's other offers include Rutgers, Penn State, Virginia, Wake Forest, Temple and Old Dominion.
"Rutgers was my first offer then Virginia, Old Dominion, Penn State, Temple, Wake Forest and now Duke," he said. "Rutgers is pretty close to my school. I don't know if location plays a huge part in this process. It will be a factor but not the deciding factor.
"I really like Penn State," said Newsome. "I've really liked all the places I've visited and camped at so far. I think it's a place with a lot of history and a lot of tradition. It's another program looking forward instead of looking at what has happened in the past. They are starting to think about Big Ten championships and everyone is excited about the direction they are heading in. Both my parents went to Penn State but they aren't pushing me to go to Penn State. They just want me to go somewhere I can succeed.
"I definitely think Virginia is on the rise," he said. "I think Coach London is a very good guy and good coach. He's very exciting and is trying to do big things there.
"I've also been talking to Notre Dame and North Carolina," Newsome said. "I'm hearing from Boston College a little bit also."
Newsome has already seen his fair share of colleges and he isn't done yet.
"I've camped at Rutgers, Virginia, Penn State, Wake Forest and North Carolina," he said. "I'm going to camp at Stanford on Thursday or Friday.
"I think the things that I'm looking for at any school are a good mix of academics with athletics," said Newsome. "I'm looking for a program where I can contribute and we can have success. I'm going to see if Stanford has those things. I don't think location will be the deciding factor."
Newsome boards at Lawrenceville Prep but is originally from northern Virginia.
