Continuing what seems like a nationwide tour, 2015 linebacker Ricky DeBerry took a closer look at Boston College over the weekend and is visiting a SEC powerhouse on Tuesday.
"Boston College was good," said the 6-foot-2, 237-pound DeBerry. "I finally got a chance to meet the new coaching staff and had a chance to put a face with the names. I met some of their 2014 commits. The city of Boston is a great place. I got up there on Friday and we went around on Saturday and did some shopping in the city."
DeBerry will be is SEC country on Tuesday for one of his final visits before the 2013 season begins.
"I'm visiting Florida on Tuesday," said the Richmond (Va.) St. Christopher's star. "This will be my first time down there. I haven't really talked to any one down there because I've been so busy with everything so my dad has been on the phone a lot. I think he is talking to the tight ends coach because they see me as a tight end.
"They haven't offered me yet but they want me to come down for a visit," DeBerry said. "I really don't know how my body is going to develop over the next few years so I'm open to maybe playing tight end.
"I'm pretty sure the Florida visit will be the last one before the season starts," he said. "We're debating a stop at South Carolina on the way back home after Florida."
Choosing from the more than 40 scholarship offers DeBerry has is sure to be a daunting task but he is taking it one step at a time.
"Everybody is still the same right now," said DeBerry. "I know I'm going to the Clemson vs. Georgia game and the Virginia vs. Oregon game. I'm definitely going to try to get to games at Tennessee and maybe Kentucky.
"I haven't really been talking to a lot of coaches lately," he said. "I've been focused on getting ready for the upcoming season."
DeBerry was one of the few underclassmen to participate in the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour at Soldier Field in Chicago.
