2015 LB Derrick Walker out of Ferris, Texas is on the verge of many more offers according to his coach, Aaron Emeyabbi.

"He's got one offer from Colorado State," Emeyabbi said. "He's getting interest from Texas Tech, Baylor, USC, Oregon and Alabama.
"Texas' running backs coach (Larry Porter) saw Derrick's highlights and they say he's the top linebacker in the metro. Nobody else has officially pulled the trigger, but a lot of schools are looking at him. Texas is waiting cause they'd like to see him ideally get to 225-pounds before they offer."
Walker currently has no visits scheduled for this fall, but went to camps at Texas and Texas Tech this summer.
Emeyabbi raved about his Walker's abilities on the field as well as his approach to the game.
"His arms are huge and he was sophomore of the year in our district last year," he said. "He's big-time. I see him making an impact and you can't coach his attitude. He's a maniac on the field. His football awareness is great and he explodes on people."
In two games this year, Walker has 33 tackles.
Asked if anyone else was in the race, Emeyabbi said Walker mentioned Texas and Aubrun, but wouldn't be shocked if he becomes a package deal with a teammate.
"I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he and Javaughn Thurmon (2015) probably end up together," Emeyabbi said.
