2015 DB calls Georgia his dream school

MORE: Defensive tackle Milton receives second offer
Sometimes it pays to be the first school to come through with an offer, and in the case of 2015 Griffin (Ga.) safety Jordan Colbert and North Carolina, the Tar Heels are clearly reaping the rewards.

"I really like North Carolina," the 6-foot-2, 205-pound Colbert said. "That was my first offer. I've been looking them up lately online and learning about them. I haven't had time to go up there yet, but I talked to the coach and he said they really want me up there."
The Tar Heels' timing, combined with the growing relationship between Colbert and assistant coach Chris Kapilovic, has certainly peaked Colbert's interest.
"He's doing all the right things right now," Colbert said. "I'll say that."
Georgia Tech has also offered, but Colbert said he's still getting to know the Yellow Jackets program.
"I really don't know too much about them," he said. "My coach told me I got an offer from them, so that was it. I haven't really talked to them since."
Also in the mix are Georgia and Auburn, two schools he's visited but that have yet to offer. He said he's hoping that changes soon.
"I have Georgia talking to me," he said. "I wouldn't be surprised if they're the next school. That's the one I would really like. They're my dream school."
Colbert was on hand for Auburn's miraculous win over the Bulldogs back in the fall and said the Tigers also have his interest.
"I like Auburn, too," he said. "I like the atmosphere there. I'm not going to lie, sometimes they get lucky, but it works. I was at the Georgia game and that last touchdown was coming right at us. It was pretty cool."
He added that he thinks his skill set would fit in nicely on the Tigers defense.
"They need to work with their defensive backs and that's what they're recruiting me for," he said. "I believe that if I got up there I could make a difference."
