Class of 2015 Milledgeville (Ga.) Baldwin running back Kentavious Thomas grew up rooting for Georgia and he's still hoping the Bulldogs will be the first school to extend a scholarship offer.
"I think they're very close," said Thomas. "I talk to Coach (Bryan) McClendon a lot and he told me they're really interested but I'm just waiting."
Thomas was on campus earlier this season for the LSU game and said he really enjoyed himself.
"It was a really good atmosphere," Thomas said. "I like it up there. I like everything they do there, especially with the running backs and how they're used."
Because he was busy with his season, Thomas didn't get out to as many Georgia games as he would have liked this season, but the Georgia coaches have let him know they want him back on campus soon.
"They're telling me they want to get me back up there for a visit soon," he said. "They think I can make a good running back."
Thomas, who finished the year with 1,098 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns, has also received interest from Alabama, Auburn, Louisville, Florida, Florida State and Vanderbilt.
