2014 TE takes an SEC visit

2014 tight end Mike Gesicki of Manahawkin (N.J.) Southern Regional has seen his recruiting process hit a new level in recent weeks. After picking up his first offer from Rutgers in August, Gesicki made his way to an SEC school for a visit this weekend.
"I just got back from Auburn today [Sunday]," said Gesicki. "It was awesome. I got to go on the sideline and really experience college football. The competition was great."

Gesicki was impressed with the attitude of football in the SEC.
"It's crazy," he said. "They eat, sleep and breath football."
The 6-foot-6, 215-pounder also discussed the possibility of the Tigers offering.
"No, nothing like that yet, I just got the tickets and they said that they would talk to me in the future," he said.
While Auburn has yet to offer, Gesicki did reel in his first offer from Rutgers in August.
"I went up to watch a practice, we walked around a little and Coach Flood offered me," he said. "It felt awesome. It took awhile for it to actually hit me, but I was so excited and honored at the same time."
Gesicki shared his early feeling about the Rutgers program.
"They're a great school," said Gesicki. "I like what they do. They have great coaches and everything."
Up next for Gesicki are a few more possible visits.
"I'm trying to head out to Michigan and I'm going to Rutgers in two weeks," he said.
Gesicki is also receiving serious interest from other schools like Penn State, Stanford and Temple.
