Jonathan Hilliman's recruitment is off to a great start. Before his junior year, the running back out of Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep already has ten offers from top programs like Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Ohio State, Penn State, and Maryland.
"I'm also getting looks from UConn, Temple, South Carolina, Iowa, Indiana, Tennessee, and Notre Dame," said the 6-foot, 201-pound Hilliman. "Right now Ohio State, Michigan, Miami, and Penn State stand out."
Hilliman explained his attraction to these four programs.
"The unbelievable football tradition, great coaching staff and the balance between football and academics really draws me to them," he said. "I'm a student athlete so academics are very important to me as well as football. Those schools stand out to me because of what I'm trying to do as a student athlete."
Deciding between all of these great schools will be a difficult task, but Hilliman has a few things he's looking for to help him make his decision.
"Academics are first and foremost," explained Hilliman. "The program's ability to develop their players for the next level and coaching staff is another big factor. If I'm going to be there for 3 or 4 years I want to know who the coach is and how he operates. Campus life is another thing, certain programs and things that I'd love to get involved with."
Another factor may play into his final decision.
"Location is not a big deal to me but it is to my family," he said. "It's very important to them to see me play and they like to be involved in any school I'm at and everything I'm doing."
Hilliman camped at Rutgers last Friday, and has no other camps planned at this time.
