Offers are piling up for Burke (Va.) Lake Braddock 2014 quarterback Caleb Henderson. On top of that, Henderson claims he plans to visit a favorite soon and may not be far from deciding.
"Right now I've got over 30 offers," he said. "I'm not really willing to say who has all offered me, but I think I am going to come to a conclusion soon. I plan to visit that school soon. I think I'm going on the visit on November 9th."
Henderson hasn't had much time to visit schools this fall, but colleges are coming to check him out.
"One of Alabama's coaches came to the Westfield game recently," he said. "A lot of coaches are coming by for games and stuff."
Though he wouldn't claim specific leaders, a lot of rumor has Henderson heavily favoring teams in the Big Ten. Is that still fair?
"It's definitely fair," he said. "It's the tradition and Big Ten football. They are all really great academic schools. It sounds weird, but I also want to get a little further away from Northern Virginia. I've been here my whole life and the Big Ten is pretty far from the East Coast."
With at least one visit coming up to a leader, what does he want to see?
"I want to see consistency," he said. "I want a school that really wants me. I've looked around and I want somewhere with consistency and the coaches are going to stay there for as long as I am there. I want tradition and the facilities will really wow me, but every school has the same ones."
Through seven games, Henderson has led Burke to a 5-2 record as he has thrown for approximately 1,700-yards and 13 touchdowns. He's added around 500-yards rushing and eight scores on the ground.
"I think there is definitely an improvement in my game," he said. "I think I'm throwing different types of throws. I'm hitting smaller windows and it's not just the big play, it's the consistent play. It's my second year in the offense and it really has helped me with my consistency."
Henderson and Burke face Robert E. Lee this week.
